PEOPLE EVENTS[top] Hospitality
Minnesota, the Star of the North, is renowned for the natural beauty of its myriad lakes and rivers, abundant forests and fertile farmlands. Cherished by both its first nations and wave upon wave of immigrant settlers and their descendents, this state has nurtured a tradition of warm hospitality for all who come to visit or stay. We invite you to enjoy our hospitality and the many opportunities to mingle with the rest of the extended Flat-Coated Retriever family during Specialty week. Field lunches and the Field Banquet will begin the hospitality part of specialty week, which continues with the Welcome Party's snacks and cash bar, held in conjunction with the Veteran's Sweepstakes. On Tuesday night, we will have a very special Ring of Honor celebration, complete with wine and cheese. These events will be followed by the Annual Meeting/dinner on Wednesday the 13th and culminate with the Awards Banquet on Friday, June 15. A fine restaurant and bar at the host hotel Holiday Inn offer other handy meal and social options. Visit the Hospitality Room at our Holiday Inn Headquarters to receive your name tags, welcome bags and event schedules, as well as information on everything from walking trails and fishing sites near Rochester to tours of the world-famous Mayo Clinic. Have a good cup of coffee or a glass of iced tea while you page through FCRSA Hall of Fame albums or chat with friends from across the country and around the world. The Hospitality Room will be open daily at various times, beginning on Sunday evening, June 10. A schedule will be posted on the door and in the lobby. If you would like to lend a hand with Hospitality, we welcome your involvement. There is no easier way to meet other Flatcoat friends than by volunteering in the Hospitality Room. If you are interested in this or any other volunteer opportunity, please fill out the Volunteer form or contact Volunteer Coordinator Linda Conrad [Email] or Hospitality Chairs Paddy Engen and Sara Grachek [Email]. Please check out the links below for information on other great places to see and things to do in Minnesota and our neighboring states. There is so much to do and something for everyone in the family. Make our 2007 FCRSA Specialty a part of your summer plans and enjoy the beauty, hospitality and fun of the Upper Midwest! Welcome and Thanks!

[top] Volunteer Opportunities:
To make this event a success, we need your help!
Volunteers will be needed to marshal and throw birds at the field events, to perform stewarding and ring crew duty at the agility trial, to steward at the obedience trial, and to assist in staffing the hospitality events. Volunteering is not only a great way to give back to your national breed club; it is a wonderful way to meet new people and dogs. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Linda Conrad [EMail] and let her know where you can pitch in. You can also fill out the online volunteer form by clicking here. | ||
